Floor Jansen- "Paragon"

First solo album for NIGHTWISH lead singer Floor Jansen and it comes after her successful battle with breast cancer and with a new pregnancy ongoing. In this album Floor gets more laid back, more melodic, more pop, in the vein of Dido,Anouk and Aneeke and mostly away from the Symphonic metal universe. Is this non appealing to a music fan? Definitely not, especially for the NIGHTWISH fans that are brought up in a healthy diet of cinematic, opera and musical style music.

For the metal head, only the melodies may speak to their inner child. For the rest of us who would enjoy a great voice over some nicely penned pop tunes, this is an album we'd love to listen to over and over.
